Last night the family got together to celebrate Jan's (my mother-in-law's) birthday. Every year we traditionally go to The Summit House in Orange for her birthday, but this year they had the dinner catered in their home. Aside from the wind and rain, it was a perfect evening.
Chefs A La Carte catered the even and they served their delicious Bang Bang Chicken appetizer followed by a yummy salad with spicy mango dressing and then salmon that was topped with a maple glaze. So good!! For dessert they ordered a delicious carrot cake from the Black Market Bakery in Irvine. I highly recommend both places if you're having a party and want delicious food for your guests.
Katelyn had so much fun running around and Brayden slept through most of the evening, only wanting to nurse when dinner was served... of course. It was nice not to have to make sure that Katelyn was staying out of trouble at a restaurant. Not that she isn't well behaved, she is, but I know that she would've had more than 1/2 the ornaments from the Summit House's tress at our table before the end of dinner had we eaten dinner there. Bless her heart! I made sure to take lots of pictures of our fun evening. Enjoy!!

Katelyn loved helping her Gigi blow out all her birthday candles. And then of course sticking her fingers in the cake to be the first one to try it. No sooner had the frosting hit her mouth did she let out a huge, "YUM!" So we gave in and let her have a teeny tiny piece, which she devoured, crumbs included and then we caught her licking her place. Like mother, like daughter. =)
