Sewing Creations

I finally got my sewing machine up and running. Turns out that I had my bobbin threaded wrong. A couple of wonderful ladies at Leah's Quilting Shop in Mission Viejo helped me figure out what was wrong. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was, and relieved to finally be able to go home and sew. Here are pictures of what I created today.

Babies first pictures

Here are some of the pictures from our ultrasound yesterday. We're so excited!! In the first pictures she's sleeping and in the second she's sucking her thumb. It was so cute. She moved around alot for us, I think we're going to have active baby so she'll fit right in with our crazy on the go lifestyle.

We are having....

A GIRL!! I had my ultrasound this afternoon and it's official, we are pregnant with a baby girl! We couldn't be happier. They said she was perfect and that everything was developed that needed to be and working accordingly. We have ultrasound pictures and I will scan them and upload them to the blog tomorrow. Sorry you'll have to wait. Please continue to pray for her as she grows.

San Diego Getaway...

This weekend Kyle and I headed to San Diego to spend some time with our cousins Jamie and Andrew. We hadn't seen them since before the holidays and it was great to catch up. We had so much fun relaxing and eating at good restaurants. Andrew and Kyle even joined the Mug Club at Rock Bottom Brewery. I think that Lucy enjoyed having her auntie and uncle around too for the weekend. She woke us up bright and early this morning with lots and lots of kisses. After getting ready we headed to breakfast in Encinitas and then drove to Carlsbad to a little sewing shop that Jamie had found. Now that my thesis is done, I've decided that I'm going to begin nesting and bought a bolster pillow to sew a case for. I got some cute material and can't wait to get started. I'll post a picture once it's sewn.

Thanks Andrew and Jamie for having us!!!

**Funny weekend story: Kyle was in a hurry showering and getting ready to leave for dinner last night and he accidentally used Lucy's doggy shampoo to wash his hair. After feeling a tingly sensation he quickly double checked the bottle and realized it was puppy shampoo. At least he has a nice shiny coat of hair on his head. hahaha

Jamie took this picture of Kyle and I in Encinitas. You can really see my baby bump. 17 weeks and counting! Thursday we find out the sex of the baby!

Master's Mania

Well after years of preparation and months of writing and research I have finally finished my thesis paper. YEAH!! I can't even begin to explain the relief that washed over me as I polished off the last correction and the excitement that jolted through me as they handed me the printed and binded copy at Kinko's tonight. This chapter of my life is officially closed and this is a proud moment that I couldn't wait to share with all of you. Now I can focus on picking up a new hobby to manipulate my time... SEWING!!

P.S You'll Love It!

Kyle and I decided to spend yesterday relaxing and furniture shopping. We keep saying we want to look for new couches but actually going and looking is a whole other story. After exhausting six shops we decided to go walk around The District in Tustin, which is a new up and coming hang out in Orange County. They have great food, and cute shops to walk around in. After having an amazing pizza dinner at Go Roma (totally recommend) we decided to go see the movie P.S I Love You. Talk about an incredible movie and our new all time favorite. It was an emotional roller coaster of laughs and tears but leaves you feeling like there is more to life than the tragedies we encounter. If you have not seen this move, go see it right away!!!

Closet Chaos

So I've been on Kyle's case for months to get rid of some of his clothes in our closet. It's unnatural for men to have more clothes in their closet than women. He keeps telling me he's going to get around to it, but I know it's at the bottom of his to do list. Last night Kyle and I were cleaning the house and packing up the remnants of Christmas when I hear this loud bang in come from our bedroom. I knew Kyle was in there so I went running to the bedroom to see what had happened. What I witnessed was so hilarious I had to share a picture of it with all of you.

I guess Kyle's going to have no choice but to rethink the timeline for going through and getting rid of clothes on his side of the closet!

A White Christmas

Kyle and I spent Christmas 2007 with my family in Boston. It was the first time that I had spent Christmas in Boston, MA for almost 10 years, which is way too long! We hadn't event seen my Papa and Nana since our wedding. It's times like these when I'm reminded how hard it is to be so far away from family, especially now that I'm pregnant. Although having this blog helps because I can post pictures of my growing belly and the adventures Kyle and I are embarking on. I know I haven't blogged much lately, but it's mostly because I've been working hard to finish my Master's thesis. Even though I graduated, the paper wasn't due until January 10th. Talk about having to round up the motivation to finish it after you've already "graduated."

Kyle and I flew out of LAX (a terrible airport) on December 21 in the early morning and arrived in Boston at 5:00p.m. We took a shuttle to Reading and mom picked us up at the station. It was FREEZING cold!! They had just been through two snow storms which left two feet of white powdery evidence on the ground everywhere you looked. Kyle and I only hoped that it didn't snow again while we were there. We had beautiful weather and spent much of our time eating (thanks, Nana! =) ) and exploring the local shopping malls. It's never too late to pick up a few last minute items for family and friends. On Christmas Eve we went to a mall that was newly built. When mom first moved to MA she was working with a temp agency and one of the jobs she had was working at this mall site while it was under construction. Of course we had to go check it out. Kyle and I agree that it has to be the best mall we've ever been to. It was a combination of South Coast Plaza and Irvine Spectrum. It had all my favorite stores... very dangerous.

We spent five wonderful days enjoying our time with the family and I was sad to leave on the 27th. Our flight was at 6:40am so we didn't get to spend even part of the day relaxing before we left. It was a great trip and we're excited to see Mom, Nana and Papa in June for the birth of our little one.

Christmas Morning

The Christmas Chos

16 Weeks and Counting....

Dear Friends,

I know that I haven't blogged in a while (shame on me) and I haven't put up pictures of our exciting and wonderful white Christmas back in Boston, but I had to share this picture with you. We are now officially 16 weeks pregnant and Kyle took a picture of my growing belly.
